Cooperation with business, industry and the public sector
Through Cooperation with business, industry and the public sector the BBS contributes to knowledge transfer and development in society. One example of such cooperation is the Partnership Initiative where each student attending one of our our study programmes gets a contact person in a company. Cooperation also includes guest lecturers from the business sector, degree projects, public lectures and research projects. Research on the business sector/public sector and contract research is carried out at our research centres (BBRC, CCE and LESC).

Competence Centre Looking into the Baltic Sea Region
The Baltic Business School in Kalmar focuses on knowledge based, service based and experience based economies. A main area of interest is trade, business and tourism in the Baltic Sea Region and we have gradually established our school as a meeting point and a competence centre for knowledge transfer between countries in the Baltic Sea Region. In recent years the scope of this interest has widened to embrace emerging economies in Asia as well.

Partnership

The Partnership Initiative
The Partnership Initiative is one of the most important means of cooperation that the Baltic Business School and the University of Kalmar uses in order to  form closer links between higher education and the business sector/public sector. More than 300 organisations participate and about 120 of these are connected to the Baltic Business School. Most organisations are situated in the Kalmar region, but there are also organsiations from other parts of Sweden.

International Network

An active international network is a corner-stone for an international Business School like the BBS. Today the BBS has exchange agreements with 19 European countries within the EU’s Erasmus programme as well as other sorts of bilateral agreements with universities in the US, China, South Korea, Thailand and Russia. We are constantly stricving to enlarge and develop our network of international contacts.

EXCHANGE AGREEMENT WITH INJE UNIVERSITY

The Baltic Business School has signed a new exchange agreement with INJE University, Republic of Korea.  The agreement is the result of a long-lasting  cooperation between Professor Hans Jansson at the BBS and Professor Joong-Woo Lee, INJE University. Professor Lee visited the BBS in August this year and met  not only Professor  Jansson and his research team but also Head of Department, Ms Katarina Zambrell and Head of Administration, Ms Karin Lundhgren.   The agreement comprises research collaboration as well as student exchange on both bachelor level and master level.

Studies Abroad within a Study Programme

Studies abroad give a most valuable contribution to our study programmes and therefore we eagerly encourage our students to study abroad. Hence, all our undergraduate programmes has one semester designated for elective courses/studies abroad.

Our goal is for all BBS students to take part in international exchanges or projects in one way or another and that a majority of ours students spend at least one semester abroad.
